Spring Dance Concert highlights the gifted artists of the 老司机福利社 Dance community, presenting dances from notable choreographers that challenge these performers. Mark Caserta, of BigKid Dance, presents a theatrical, thought-provoking contemporary dance from a queer lens. Chandra Moss-Thorne, former 老司机福利社 faculty and current Swarthmore senior lecturer, brings her unique voice in contemporary ballet to the 2026 guest residency.

The iconic Appalachian Spring speaks to freshness, simplicity and hope. This touchstone pairs with Manuel de Falla鈥檚 ferociously passionate ballet, bringing back Met Opera star Barbara Dever and the engaging flamenco dancer Liliana Ruiz. Richard Wagner鈥檚 exquisite poem written for his wife opens up worlds of expression for this program of so many moods and colors.

Drew Zaremba fuses traditional Indian and jazz sounds with classical elements brought to life by five engaging, virtuosic and fun performers. Ludwig van Beethoven鈥檚 7th, with its dynamism and fire, is an unforgettable piece that opens a door to the discovery of great symphonic music in this program with new sounds from the bansuri flute and the tabla.
